REFLECTIONS 2024 & NEW YEAR GREETINGS 2025

Dear Readers,

The dawn of 2024 found US, the leviathan of the West Bloc, enmeshed in the ‘Chinese Chakravyuh’ through Iran led proxies in the Levant region. This detracted US focus from its stated ‘pivot to the east’ to stalemate China in the maritime region of the South China Sea and Straits of Taiwan. The US unveiled a two prong riposte to outwit China.

The first was to overtly align with Israel in destroying piecemeal, Iran supported militias that were dominant in the countries bordering the former. By the end of 2024, decimation of Hamas in Palestine, Hezbollah in Lebanon, dethroning of President Assad in Syria, and crippling airstrikes on Iran itself, have destroyed the carefully built Iranian power matrix in the Levant region. This has cut through the China-Iran web built to fix US to the Levant.

The second prong of the geostrategy carried the battle, albeit covertly, to the jugular vein of China, its energy corridors; that too literally on its doorsteps. While the eyes of the world were fixed on the overt storms raging in Kievan Rus and Levant regions, the covertly orchestrated struggle in South Asia has assumed a criticality of its own, that shall play a powerful role in 2025 towards determining the global future.

The turbulence in India’s northeast and the adjoining countries of Bangladesh and Myanmar, the reluctant pullback from northeastern Ladakh by China, and the violent free for all along the western borders of Pakistan, are all interlinked. An ingenious US strategy that chokes the CPEC and CMEC, the alternative external energy supply lines of energy deficient China. Simultaneously, it is promoting centrifugal forces along India’s vulnerable northeastern flank, with the underlying premise of forcing India to abandon the BRICS and its global economic architecture in the making, that threatens US global economic leadership.

By flaming the South Asian arc, the US hopes to stymie emergence of India as an independent geopolitical pole, and force it to embrace the US led West Bloc. 

Whichever way you look at it, whether the overt deployment of Korean troops in Rus, or the covert attempts at destabilising India and China through orchestrated ethnic violence in the South Asian arc, the Year of 2024 has lived up to its billing as being the clash of ‘National Will’.   

Two other phenomenon of late 2024, set to rise over the horizon at the beginning of 2025, are the emergence of US President elect Donald Trump, and his ‘disruptor at large’, Elon Musk. The former brings to the table a tacit acceptance of Russian dominance in the region of Rus, in exchange for Israeli dominance of the Levant. Elon Musk, on the other hand, is well poised to lead the first supranational-corporation ‘from emergence stage in 2023, to the next stage of influential dominance’ in 2025; a supra-national corporation with near sovereign influence, whose acts of omissions and commissions shall have greater impact on life on Earth than even the most powerful state that he currently represents.  

The degree of impact of the ‘Global Chaos’ phenomenon, building up to explode in the foreseeable future, shall be predominantly dependent on the disruptive impact of these two personalities. First, shall be the degree of success by Donald Trump in shaping new geopolitical realities that align a transformational relationship with Russia, thereby weaning it away from China. Second is the extent to which Elon Musk is able to orchestrate aligning of governmental policies to his alarming vision of developing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to the next stage of Self Evolving Artificial Intelligence (SEAI), and setting rules that open the way for colonisation of extraterrestrial bodies by corporations.  

In an interesting aside, ‘apas’ (water) shall be the dominant ‘panch tattva’ (five elements) in 2025, that should spur aware individuals and nations, such as India, to closely observe this ‘tattva’ (element) to avoid surprise.  

Reasons enough, to classify ‘2025 as The Year of the Omen’!
